Developing the Broadband Workforce

Colorado has more than $1 billion in state and federal funding to improve internet throughout the state. This investment will create more than 3,000 high-quality jobs and careers in telecom for Colorado residents over the next few years. Learn more in the CBO Workforce Plan.

To meet this need the Colorado Broadband Office, along with our partners, is:

  1. Increasing awareness of career opportunities
  2. Developing and supporting more training and job placement programs
  3. Embedding telecommunications into Colorado's workforce structure

Median pay: $72,010/year

Job description: Personnel responsible for the supervision and organization of site personnel and the reporting of all pertinent site activities and managing the quality of work performed. They will ensure that all work is installed/maintained in accord with the company’s and customer’s safety and quality requirements.

Education Requirements: (all of the following or substituted experience)

  • Experience with fiber optic cable installation, standards and safety.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency with fiber optic cable systems
