Broadband Deployment Board & Fund



The Colorado Office of Policy, Research and Regulatory Reform conducted a sunset review of the Colorado Broadband statute.  Analysis was performed to determine if statute regarding the Commission is necessary and should be continued, modified, or repealed. The Broadband Deployment Board, established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2014, provides grants through the Broadband Fund to deploy broadband service in unserved areas of the state.

Recent Notices

The Broadband Deployment Board (BDB) typically runs two cycles per year; however, due to the nature of the sunset in September 2024 the BDB is not going to complete two full cycles before its expiration on September 30, 2024.
The Broadband Band Fund is working diligently to design the final grant cycle in 2024. Due to the program's sunset scheduled for Sept.

Summer 2023 Grant Cycle:

Applications for the Summer 2023 Grant Cycle were due Saturday, July 15, 2023. The comment period closes on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. 

A refresher meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16. The initial presentation and application review will take place via zoom on Tuesday, September 12 and Wednesday, September 13.
