Broadband Deployment Board Update

On April 11 and 12, the Broadband Deployment Board (Board or BDB) began its review of the Minimum Requirement Decisions for all of the applications for the final 2024 Grant Cycle. Unfortunately, the Board was unable to complete its review, and therefore scheduled a final application review meeting for Wednesday, April 17 from 9:30 to 12:30 pm. Board staff will then post all final decisions on Thursday, April 18. Due to the additional meeting, the timeline has been updated (see below).

Public Comments Available for Broadband Deployment Board 2024 Grant Cycle

The comment period for the Broadband Deployment Board’s 2024 Grant Cycle closed on April 1, 2024. All public comments have been posted on the site.

It may not necessarily be accurate, and it does not represent the views or opinions of the Board; the Board can and does frequently take differing views. 2024 Application Cohort is Available for Review

On Friday, Feb. 16, the Broadband Fund published the applications submitted for the 2024 grant cycle. There were 18 applications requesting $32,702,812.70 to provide broadband-level internet access to 6,583 locations.

The Broadband Deployment Board (BDB) typically runs two cycles per year; however, due to the nature of the sunset in September 2024 the BDB is not going to complete two full cycles before its expiration on September 30, 2024.

BDB: Minimum Requirements Decisions

As of September 13, the Broadband Deployment Board (BDB) completed its review and issued Minimum Requirement Decisions for all of the applications for the Summer 2023 Grant Cycle. You can find all of the funding eligibility decisions on our website.

Appeals
According to Board policy, there are seven days to submit an appeal, and another seven days to submit a response to that appeal.
