Governor Polis Signs Bipartisan Senate Bill 23-183

On May 1, the Governor signed SB23-183 (Local Government Provision of Communications Services) which eliminates a 2005 law that has jeopardized CBO's efforts to close the digital divide. This bill enables Colorado’s local governments to provide, or partner to provide, broadband internet service without having to pass voter referendums. SB23-183 is necessary to close existing gaps in the state as we work to reach our goal of connecting 99% of Colorado households to high-speed broadband by the end of 2027.

Lt. Governor Primavera Announces Statewide ACP Act Now Initiative

On Feb. 22, Lt. Governor Primavera announced a statewide initiative to increase awareness of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a long-term benefit to help eligible households pay for high-speed internet, with support from EducationSuperHighway. Seventy one (71) partner cities, community-based organizations and trusted institutions around Colorado were invited to participate in the initiative.

November Industry & Community Roundtable Webinars: Slides and Recordings Now Available

On November 15 and 16, the CBO hosted it's Advance Industry and Community Roundtable meetings. In order to establish a regular cadence of communication with our partners, the CBO will hold these Roundtable meetings bi-monthly. The Colorado Broadband Office (CBO) would like to announce new opportunities to engage with us on the development of our broadband expansion plan and deployment of funds through our Advance Colorado Broadband grant program. The best strategy to address Colorado's areas in need of broadband is to work together. Therefore, we are establishing a regular cadence of communication with our partners. 

Help to Inform the CBO's Strategic Plan: Surveys Available for Community Organizations & Local Governments

Earlier this year, Governor Polis and state lawmakers charged the Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Colorado Broadband Office (CBO) with crafting a strategic plan to speed up the fair, reliable, and user-friendly delivery of digital and broadband services to residents, businesses, and other state customers.
