CBO Launches State-Led Middle-Mile Strategy

The CBO has announced a new initiative to strengthen the state’s middle-mile infrastructure, the critical backbone connecting local communities to the global internet. The strategy aims to improve daily cellular and fiber connectivity while supporting advanced industries like quantum computing.

Set for completion by the end of 2026, the strategy focuses on three pillars: a comprehensive gap assessment, a feasibility study for addressing connectivity challenges, and the creation of a policy and funding implementation framework.

Lt. Governor Primavera Announces Statewide ACP Act Now Initiative

On Feb. 22, Lt. Governor Primavera announced a statewide initiative to increase awareness of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a long-term benefit to help eligible households pay for high-speed internet, with support from EducationSuperHighway. Seventy one (71) partner cities, community-based organizations and trusted institutions around Colorado were invited to participate in the initiative.
