Community Connect

Fund Owner: U.S. Department of Agriculture

Program Website

The Community Connect program helps fund broadband deployment in rural communities where it is not yet economically viable for private-sector providers to deliver service. The grants offer financial assistance to eligible applicants that will provide broadband service in rural, economically-challenged communities where service does not exist. The Community Connect grant typically has an award ceiling of $3,000,000 and an award floor of $100,000, requiring a 15% match. A key change in the program is that the USDA will no longer consider the availability of cellular service, as a disqualifier, in the proposed funding service area.
