The Advance Colorado Broadband Grant Program funds broadband projects that improve or expand infrastructure or make access to high-speed internet affordable and easy to use for all Coloradans. Colorado is using pandemic recovery funding to make significant, long-term improvements to the state's broadband infrastructure through the Capital Projects Fund (CPF). On Jan. 3, 2024, Governor Polis announced the investment of $113 million from CPF to connect nearly 19,000 homes and businesses across Colorado. Read the full press release.
On March 22, 2024, the CBO announced 5 additional grants as a result of the Advance-CPF Challenge Process. For more information about these new projects review the Awarded Projects List below (the new awards are in bold).
Awarded Projects
The Advance-CPF application opened in June and closed in September 2023. We received 112 applications requesting more than $642 million across 47 counties. The review process and proposed project selection took into consideration a number of factors including the percentage of eligible unserved locations, cost efficiency and justification for high-cost areas, available and affordable services, community engagement by the applicant, and Executive Order 2022-023.
